Jack Kiefer

Jack Kiefer possesses a unique combination of operations, technical and e-commerce expertise. A veteran of the Internet and e-commerce, Jack sold his first book online for a Health Sciences Publisher in Gopher space (early alternative to the World Wide Web) in 1994 and hasn’t looked back.

Jack was part of a very small team which founded and developed the Comcast @Home business (now called Xfinity). He then moved to the start-up iVillage.com, an early online women’s community. At iVillage he realized that a blend of good content and strong e-commerce seemed to be a good idea, so he was part of a small team which acquired and re-launched iBaby.com.

Mr. Kiefer moved from iVillage to the finance world, where he was responsible for building the first Fixed Income Trading Intranet for Banc of America Securities as he served as the Vice President of Corporate Securities Trading.

Still believing in e-commerce, Jack left Wall Street, and founded BabyAge.com in 1999. BabyAge was an Internet Retailer Top 250 company, and a leading online specialty retailer for over 15 years.

After successfully exiting BabyAge, Jack launched Sweet Valley Venture.  Sweet Valley is a professional Software and Consultancy Practice which focuses on Strategic Digital Selling and Merchandising along with the plumbing that makes this possible (data integration, transformation, and state management).

Jack continues to advise many internet based companies as a Director and as a Consultant, on the topics of Merchandising, Technology, Business Development, and Marketing. He still speaks regularly, and has lead Key Note and Session discussions at conferences like Internet Retailer, NRF, eTail, SES, and other commerce and technology industry conferences.

Mr. Kiefer received his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and his MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from Drexel University.
